	*Basketball Ticket Information*	*02/12/2006*

The club has 12 tickets remaining for the Men's Basketball game on saturday February 25th. The game is scheduled for 1:30pm against that tem from up north, Michigan. Yes, friends it's that time of year again. Time to dig deep and pony up for another year. Remember, your dues go to funding our scholarships by allowing our club to provide events such as the Golf Outing, Tailgate, and Game watches. Your dues also qualify you for all meetings, discounts at events, purchase of special club football tickets and our newsletter. It's a real deal! Click here for the Renewal Form. 	*Best Buckeye Award Criteria*	*03/09/2006*

Purpose of this award To recognize members of our Alumni Club that have provided faithful, dedicated, & extended service and leadership to our club and The Ohio State University. Recipients may be past or present volunteers past or present at the local level. Recipient will be the Greater Cincinnati Alumni Club nominee for the OSU Alumni Association Alumni Club Leader Alumni All-Stars Award. The pool of Alumni All-Stars will be used by the Association to choose the 3 Best Buckeye awards given at the annual OSU Alumni Leaders Conference. Current dues -paying member of the Alumni Association. Current or past club volunteer that has made a "difference" in the club through their volunteer efforts. Demonstrated exceptional leadership and faithful, dedicated, & extended service to The Greater Cincinnati OSU Alumni Club, The Ohio State University and the Alumni Association. A short bio sketch ( no longer than one 8 1/2 x 11 sheet , typed in 12 pt. font( min.) needs to be submitted and should state clearly why the person should be recognized, describing service to the club. Submission of nominees no later than April 19 of each year. Selection made and submitted to University by their ALC award deadline. Local award presented to recipient at Annual Dinner (Golf Outing in June). Each year a sub committee would be formed to handle the nominations outside the regular club meeting.

13th Annual Golf Outing and Dinner June 10, 2006

“Mother Nature” wasn't as cooperative as last year but the 13th Annual Greater Cincinnati OSU Alumni Club “ Buckeye Classic” Golf Outing & Dinner was a great if soggy day for everyone that participated. We originally had 17 groups for a total of 69 golfers signed up ( if all had played would have been best in 13 years of the outing, 12 golfers did not play (2 groups due to rain, the other due to a funeral). The final number of players golfing was 57 which is the 2nd best in 13 years of the outing. Of the groups there were 2 that registered in the 64 plus age group! 91 RSVP'd for dinner (most in the history of this event), actual attendees were around 82 ( may be best in event history).

Jack Park was our speaker this year and gave an amazing talk about the history of Buckeye football. Everyone there was astounded at the depth of his knowledge and his ability to have answers ready answers to virtually every question. Thanks Jack for a great talk!

Thanks to everyone that helped make the event a great success, donors, sponsors and participants. Because of you we are able to continue to build our scholarship endowment for future Buckeyes students from our area!

	*Sorg Opera Football Ticket Raffle - deadline Sept. 3, 2006*	*06/29/2006*

There will be a raffle at the Woodside Cemetery in the Arboretum (Rt 4 and 14th Ave.) in Middletown at 4pm on Sunday September third where two tickets (good seats!) to the Cincinnati game and two tickets to the Indian Game among other prizes will be raffled off. The first draw will get the choice of the game tickets. Raffle tickets are $25 a piece. You need not be present to win. All money must be in before the drawing. Jackie Jackson-Dean and her husband have moved to Florida due to new jobs for them both. Jackie was our Vice President for a few months and had looked forward to being involved with our club. New jobs came up suddenly. We all wish them both the best of luck!


	*Our Mini Game Watches are back for a second year!*	*09/01/2006*

Last year we started having mini game watches at The Blue Goose for all the football games home and away. That continues this year with a twist. We will be alternating between The Blue Goose in Sharonville and The Fox & Hound in Mason. Please join us! It promotes our club and the University, supports our team and it's always great to watch a game with other Buckeyes! Click here for more information!


	*Our Club's Stadium Brick Has Been Installed!*	*09/14/2006*

The OSU Alumni Club of Greater Cincinnati purchased a stadium brick last year and it was installed this summer. The paver supports the Department of Athletics and bears the name "Alumni Club of Greater Cincinnati - Go Bucks!". It can be found on the west walkway near gates 15 & 17. Be sure to check it out!

Congratulations to everybody! Our club has been named an Outstanding Alumni Club for the sixth year in a row. How's that for a great club! Ann Ball has been named a 2006 Alumni Allstar. Congratulations Ann and thanks for all your hard work! Our club has also received the Web site award. Thanks to all that have contributed information, ideas, and feedback for that!

The dates for the October and November board meetings have been changed! The October meeting is now on the 18th and the November meeting has been changed to the 29th. They will still be held at Hyde Park Country Club at 7:00pm. See you there!


	*Student Project! Please participate!*	*10/31/2006*

Rachel E. Gibson, a student in the School of Communication at The Ohio State University and a group of her classmates are working on a project for a Strategic Planning class. The project involves increasing awareness of the Alumni Awards Program and increasing the number of nominations received each year. They have put together a survey. Participating will be greatly appreciated and beneficial to their project. The Ohio State Alumni Club of greater Cincinnati encourages all it's members to participate! Click here for the survey.
